Education for a Healthier Life
In spite of itself, primary and secondary school can teach students a lot about how to live a healthier life in the long-term. Even a rudimentary school education can teach basic fitness and nutrition and, to some degree, cooking, all of which can prove important later on in life. For example, high school gym classes can help students develop a functional workout routine and prompt interest in maintaining one’s personal fitness as they get older and it becomes more and more important for them to do so in order to maintain internal health and weight. A weight training class can teach a student about how to functionally use a weight room and about what one must do in order to achieve growth or maintenance, which isn’t immediately apparently the first time one goes to a gym. Additionally, gym classes can teach basic rules of how to safely exercise and how to participate in sports that one might be interested in as they get older. Continue reading













As an educationist who is currently focusing on DIY learning, I believe we need a radically different approach to crediting learning that occurs in our daily lives.
