Active Learning

Recently,  I was asked to present at a distance learning summit on the topic of active learning in the online class. The thing to remember about active learning is that it isn’t rocket science, it’s just good teaching. Getting students actively engaged in the content respects different learning styles and preferences and helps students to take ownership of their learning experience.

    Hi Leah,

That was a great presentation. I was particularly taken with the ADA tips. I have never heard anyone mention them with regard to making blogs accessible to all. That might make a good guest post on Problogger. Not that bloggers MUST be compliant, but if you wanted to be accessible to all, keep these tips in mind kind of thing.

    Just a thought,

    Tammi

Thanks for popping by Tammi and for the suggestion. Although I think the issue of ADA is important for blogger, possibly the issue of UDL is a better one. Think about readers- some readers may prefer to hear the text and others may prefer to read it. That’s why plug-ins for blogs or e-reader text-to-speech apps are so important. I can’t find the info on submitting a guest post to ProBlogger, let me know if you do.
