At Canisius College, we wanted to come up with an innovative and engaging way to train faculty to use Softchalk. We wanted this training to walk users through step by step how to load and use Softchalk as well as help form a community of Softchalk users. We came up with MISSON Softchalk. Here are all the materials from my March 23, 2011 webinar.
Mission Softchalk Vignette Recording

Hi! I'm Leah- an instructional designer in Buffalo, NY who just started her Ph.D. When I'm not helping to put on amazing events like TEDxBuffalo or designing challenges on P2PU, I'm blogging here on my site about DIY and informal learning and alternative forms of credit. Thanks for joining me.

I am just beginning in the world of 2.0 web tools so I have learned from your info. I have a long way to go but I’m way ahead of where I was a year ago.
I am wondering about the use of music playing in the background which was distracting to me. Have you had feedback about that?
Hey Virginia,
I’m so glad I could offer some things of value!
I believe you are referring to the Softchalk Vignette posted- and yes, I did. What I had posted was the first version. The second version that is posted on Softchalk’s site and YouTube channel only has music at the beginning. I tried to add some ambiance and enticement, but those over at Softchalk also commented on how distracting it was. *I have updated this post to include the official Softchalk version with only the music at the beginning. Enjoy!
Please note, what you see here is just a vignette, the full one-hour presentation link is listed above the video.
